Modern Warfare 2 Patches Released

January 31st, 2010

As some of you may know, there was a negative XP hack for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Infinity Ward finally took the time to stop swimming in the revenue money and actually let their programmers put out a patch that fixes up everything. The only thing I hate about the new patch is that the Akimbo Model 1887′s with FMJ now don’t have a longer range like before. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Xbox 360 Beta

January 31st, 2010

Last week, the Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta was officially released for Xbox 360 users in the US. While I’ve already been playing it on my PS3, I can definitely say that this game has made some MAJOR improvements from the original game, Battlefield Bad Company.  Be ready for the full release of the game March 2. If it’s anything like the first one in terms of campaign mode, I’ll definitely be picking up the game and playing it. Especially since there’s been a huge number of campers on Modern Warfare 2.

Mass Effect Sales Reach 2 Million – First Week

January 31st, 2010

This isn’t too much of a surprise to many Xbox 360 gamers, but Mass Effect 2 has sold over two million copies in it’s first week. Even though the sales couldn’t even compare to the record sales for the Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2 has still surprised many people in it’s sales. That’s including me as well. The co-founder of BioWare has said “Mass Effect 2 is poised to be one of the biggest games of 2010.” While many are still going to buy the game, I’m more excited to find out what they’re going to be releasing next. Yes, I’m wondering that in the first week of the game being out in stories.

Rock Band Network Beta Open

January 24th, 2010

On January 20th, MTV Games has announced that the Rock Band Network Beta has now been opened. With millions of users playing the game and thousands that are addicted to it, it’ll definitely bring more people into buying the game. With the Rock Band Network opening, this’ll give artists an opportunity to release songs that they’ve created on the game itself. I can admit to wanting to have a network back when Guitar Hero 3 was released.  If a new songs has been approved, the artist can earn up to 30% of all profits made from sales of that song.  The store will be available soon and I’ll keep you guys updated.

DJ Hero Sequel Confirmed

January 17th, 2010

Activision’s President and CEO Bobby Kotick has confirmed that there’s going to be a sequel to the game DJ Hero. With almost 800,000 sales, there’s going to be a lot of hype with the new sequel.

Bobby stated this “I think DJ Hero is a really innovative product. I can’t wait for you to see next year’s,” he said. “That’s the thing; we’re sticking with it. We’ll stick with it and get it right.”

Now, I’m not really sure what to expect with this one. I stopped played Guitar Hero because there were too many games being released when they could have just let the songs become downloadable for a certain price. What’s next? DJ Flute? Bad joke.  Activision will definitely need to release a better, more innovative game. Especially since they’re making over a billion dollars with their hit  Call of Duty series. Be on the lookout next year for some new updates about this. I’ll be tracking this story!

New Call of Duty in Vietnam?

January 17th, 2010

Recent rumors have said that the new Call of Duty will be in the Vietnam era. Not really sure what to think of this one. If the rumors are true, that’ll definitely be a game that I might consider. I’ve played the World War 2 games, Modern Warfare, but I’d love to test out a Call of Duty set in Vietnam. I can just see now what’ll happen.  Maps will be FILLED with campers considering almost all of Vietnam is covered with forests and grassy land.  More will be released soon, but remember, this is JUST a rumor.

Modern Warfare 2 Sales Top $1 Billion

January 17th, 2010

Activision Blizzard has just recently let everyone know that Modern Warfare 2 has reached $1 billion dollars in sales. This might not be much of a surprise to some people considering the fact that millions have been playing Modern Warfare 2 since it’s release back in November.

Robert Kotick has stated that  “Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 has exceeded our expectations and shattered theatrical box office and video game records. There are only a handful of entertainment properties that have ever reached the $1 billion mark, which illustrates the power of the Call of Duty franchise and mass appeal of this game.”

There’s just one thing to show from this, there’s DEFINITELY going to be another Call of Duty game being released next year.
